Paper Accepted at Pacific APA

I just got word that my paper “What in the World Is Weakness of Will?” (latest abstract available on this page) has been accepted for presentation at a colloquium session at the next meeting of the Pacific Division of the American Philosophical Association (APA)! The meeting takes place in San Francisco March 31 – April 4, 2010 at Westin St Francis.

The funny thing is… I found the acceptance email in my junk mail folder in Gmail.  And I hardly ever check that folder.  I just happened to check it because I accidentally marked an email as junk and went to the folder to un-junk it. I wonder what would have happened if I never looked in that junk mail folder…

UPDATE: The Main Program is now online.

That’s great, Josh! Hey, a quick question. Are we officially allowed to be on the regular program and in the Committee on Teaching Philosophy section? One of my former colleagues did something like that last year, but I also know they can be picky about people being on the program twice.

Thanks, Kevin! I’ve been wondering that too. The acceptance letter said something about making sure not to be on the main “daytime” program more than once, but they said “normally.” So I wrote them to ask about my case. I’ll let you know what they say.

Excellent. Thanks. I’m inclined not to ask and hope no one notices!

Thanks, guys! Kevin, I just got word back and they said I can present at both. Maybe it’s because the Teaching Philosophy thing is a “special session,” but I’m not sure.
